Signed by the Club from Liverpool as an U14, Owen is a vocal goalkeeper who shows great instinctive qualities and the ability to dominate 1v1 situations.

The goalkeeper made 22 appearances in the 2020/21 campaign as Latics U18s retained the Professional Development League North title and became the National Champions in May 2021. 

Owen spent the 2021/22 campaign gaining invaluable experience out on loan in the Northern Premier League with both Newcastle Town and Runcorn Linnets. He helped the latter reach the West Division Play-Off Final, narrowly losing out to Marine. The goalkeeper was rewarded for his exciting performances by being offered his first professional contract in the summer of 2022. 

After starting regularly in-between the sticks for Latics at the start of the 2022/23 campaign, Owen returned to Newcastle Town in November 2022 in order to gain more senior minutes under his belt to help aid his development.
