Josh Stones is currently in his first year as a professional at Wigan Athletic after arriving from Guiseley in the summer.
Josh spent his formative years with Bradford City, before most recently progressing through the Academy at National League North outfit Guiseley.
After starring for the U18s side, Josh made his first-team breakthrough at Nethermoor Park in the 2021/22 campaign, most memorably scoring the winning goal against Telford. His eye-catching performances were also recognised on an international basis, with Josh frequently leading the line as captain of the England Schoolboys U18s.
His form led to him making the move to Latics in the summer, and after firing in a handful of goals for the U21s during pre-season, Josh made his professional debut as a late substitute against Fleetwood Town in August 2022.
A day later, Josh marked his competitive debut for the U21s with a brace against Watford, before scoring further goals in the victories against Birmingham City and Peterborough United.
A strong and robust forward, Josh will be hoping he can continue his exciting development at the DW Stadium in the years to come.
