Joe Rodwell-Grant signed for Wigan Athletic in July 2022 following a successful trial period. 

Joe linked up with Stephen Crainey's U21s side after previously spending the last seven years with Latics’ Championship rivals Preston North End.

The hard-working striker joined the Lilywhites at the age of 11, before signing professional terms with the Club in May 2021. Joe went on to gain plenty of experience in senior football, enjoying loan spells with Chorley, Bamber Bridge and Lancaster City. He also had previously found the back of the net at the DW Stadium prior to his arrival, scoring for North End in a friendly between the two sides. 

After departing Deepdale in the summer, Joe put pen to paper at the DW Stadium after impressing in the U21s' pre-season friendlies against Hyde United and Alvechurch FC. He made a dream debut for Latics U21s on the opening day of the 2022/23 Professional Development League, scoring in the 5-0 victory over Watford.

The son of former Latics striker Desmond Grant, Joe is currently out on loan at FC United of Manchester until January.
