Currently in the second year of his apprenticeship, Steven is a dominant central defender who first joined the Club in February 2018 as an U14. Steven is a physically imposing centre back who is comfortable in possession, who also demonstrates excellent leadership qualities beyond his years.
He often played above his age group as an U16, representing the U18s on a number of occasions in the 2020/21 Professional Development League campaign, emphasising the impressive development that Steven has made over the years.
After signing as a scholar in the summer of 2021, Steven scored the opening goal as Latics U18s defeated Morecambe at the Leyland County Ground to lift the LFA Professional Youth Cup. He quickly established himself as a starter for Latics' U18s outfit, forming a dominant partnership with then U18s captain Charlie Hughes.
He has since made an excellent start to the 2022/23 campaign, featuring for both the U18s and U21s.
