Ewan Hampson signed a two-year scholarship with Wigan Athletic in March 2022 following a spell with Premier League side Liverpool FC. 

Hailing from the Wirral, Ewan plays predominately on the left side of the defence, though he can play further up the field if required. He is technically proficient, likes to deliver from wide areas and loves joining in with attacks.

Currently in his first year as a scholar. Hampson made his competitive debut for Latics U18s in their penalty shootout defeat against Preston North End U18s in the Quarter Finals of the LFA Professional Youth Cup.
