A central defender from the Isle of Man, Adam Long has been a regular for Latics’ U18 and U23 sides since joining the club in 2017. Long, who made his Latics first team debut in the Checkatrade Trophy against Middlesbrough early in his time with the club, arrived at the DW Stadium from his hometown team St. George's AFC. He helped Latics to back-to-back Lancashire FA Youth Cup titles, as well as the EFL Youth Alliance, EFL Youth Alliance Cup and the Central League title. Involved with Latics’ first team squad in the 2019-20 pre-season, he secured a loan move to National League side Notts County in February 2020 and helped the Magpies to finish in a play-off place by scoring an important winner in a 2-1 victory over AFC Fylde.
