Young striker Jan Mlakar joined Leon Balogun in joining Latics on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion on Transfer Deadline Day in January 2020.
Mlakar had spent the first-half of the season with QPR, in which time he made eight first team appearances, mainly from the bench, due to the form of Hoops striker Nahki Wells.
Slovenia U21 international Mlakar played youth football in his homeland with NK Domžale before moving to Italy with Fiorentina.
Mlakar played one Serie A game for the Florence club, featuring against Palermo in a 2-0 defeat before spending time on loan with Venezia in Serie B.
In January 2018, Mlakar returned to his homeland with Maribor - previously opponents of Latics in the UEFA Europa League - and scored 17 goals in 44 appearances in all competitions, form which prompted Brighton to secure his services on a three-and-a-half year contract in January 2019.
After spending pre-season with the Seagulls, Mlakar moved to the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium with QPR and he will look to further his experience in English football with Latics in early 2020.
