Latics acquired the services of forward-thinking midfielder Kieran Dowell from Everton in the 2020 January Transfer Window.
Having spent the first-half of the 2019-20 season on loan at Derby County, Dowell switched his loan deal from Goodison Park to the DW Stadium to help Paul Cook's side in the fight for Sky Bet Championship survival.
A graduate of Everton's academy, Dowell made his debut for the Toffees' first team in Decmeber 2014 as a 17-year-old in a UEFA Europa League clash with FK Krasnodar. A dream debut given to him by former Latics boss Roberto Martinez.
A player of huge promise, Dowell featured twice in the Premier League for Everton in 2015-16, including a start in a 3-0 win over Norwich City.
Dowell signed a new contract with Everton the following summer and spent a year impressing for the Toffees' U23s before joining Nottingham Forest on loan for the 2017-18 season.
At the City Ground, Dowell played 43 times and scored ten goals in an impressive campaign.
The Ormskirk-based midfielder went back to Everton for 2018-19 to try and force his way into the first team at Goodison Park. He did feature in EFL Cup games against Rotherham United and Southampton before signing on loan for Sheffield United in January 2019.
At Bramall Lane, Dowell played 17 times as Chris Wilder's won promotion to the Premier League. His winning goal at West Bromwich Albion was hugely important to the Blades.
Dowell then moved out to Derby at the start of this season, though he played just 10 times before cutting his loan spell short and signing for Latics.
With over 40 youth international caps to his name, there is no doubt Dowell brings quality to the DW Stadium.
