Experienced Northern Ireland international Josh Magennis joined Latics on a two-and-a-half-year deal in January 2022.
Magennis made his senior bow with Cardiff City at the start of the 2009/10 campaign before scoring his first professional goal during a 3-1 victory over Bristol Rovers in the second round of the League Cup.
A move north of the border would follow as Magennis joined Aberdeen in July 2010 and spent four years at the Pittodrie Stadium, making over a century of appearances for the Dons. He then had a two-year stint with Kilmarnock before making the move to England to join Charlton Athletic in August 2016.
Following two double-figure goalscoring campaigns with the Addicks in Sky Bet League One, Magennis had a brief stay with Bolton Wanderers prior to moving to Hull in 2019.
An ever-present for the Tigers during his two-and-a-half seasons at the KCOM Stadium, Magennis arrived at the DW Stadium on the back of a prolific 2020/21 campaign in which he fired Grant McCann’s side to the League One title with 18 league goals.
The powerful and aerially dominant striker, who has featured in the top-flight in Scotland and the Championship for most of his career, has over 60 international caps for Northern Ireland in a career that has seen the Bangor-born frontman notch just shy of 100 senior goals to date
