Graeme Shinnie arrived at the DW Stadium in January 2022 following a two-and-a-half-year stay with Sky Bet Championship side Derby County.
The versatile midfielder featured for the Rams on 92 occasions, with the first of his six goals for Derby coming against Latics back in October 2019 when he fired in a late winner at Pride Park.
Shinnie, who won the 2020/21 Derby County Player of the Year award, had moved to the East Midlands having played 300 league games in Scotland during spells with Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Aberdeen.
A Scottish Cup winner with Caley Thistle in 2015, Shinnie has also been named in the PFA Scotland Team of the Year on four occasions. Following his move to Aberdeen, Shinnie won the first of his six international caps in 2018, having previously been capped at U21 level.
Graeme made his debut in Latics' colours during the 3-2 victory over Gillingham FC in Sky Bet League One in January 2022, before making a further nine appearances as Leam Richardson's side won the division title.
