Wigan Athletic will celebrate its proud history against Cardiff City on Saturday, 27 September in the Club's dedicated, annual Heritage Fixture.

Following the Club's formation in 1932, it has been a historic journey for everyone connected to the town of Wigan. Latics supporters have watched their team accomplish feats beyond their wildest dreams, from spending eight unforgettable years in the Premier League, featuring in the UEFA Europa League, and winning the 2013 FA Cup.

Joining forces with both the Wigan Athletic Heritage Group and Wigan Athletic Past Players Association, our upcoming clash with Cardiff City at the end of September will be one to remember as we take the opportunity to look back and celebrate the history of our special Football Club.

To mark the occasion, the Club will be holding an Indoor Fanzone at the Robin Park Arena from 12pm, in partnership with the Official Wigan Athletic Supporters Club. The Hub will play host to plenty of heritage activities, including a VIP Q&A session, live music, and so much more.

Having first launched in the South Stand Bar last year, the Heritage Museum will officially be opened in its new East Stand location by Non-Executive Chair Brenda Spencer and a number of past players. The Museum is the home of loads of special memorabilia from over the years - from programmes to replica shirts - and members of the Wigan Athletic Heritage Group will be on hand to pass on their knowledge and expertise to those wanting to learn more.

Former players from different eras in the Club's long history will also be in attendance, parading the pitch at half-time, after being invited to the fixture by the Wigan Athletic Past Players Association. It's not just former players who will be joining us; Crusty the Pie will be reacquainted with Phoenix and Blue, who will both join Crusty in providing the pre-match family fun.
