Latics forward voted as the Club's 46th Player of the Year after an outstanding debut season

Congratulations are in order to Dale Taylor, who has been voted as the Club’s 2024/25 Player of the Year award winner by the Wigan Athletic supporters.

The 21-year-old received 38% of the overall vote, after leading the line superbly for Ryan Lowe's side throughout the 2024/25 Sky Bet League One campaign.

Having joined on a season-long loan from Nottingham Forest, Taylor made his Latics debut against Birmingham City and quickly established himself as one of the first names on the teamsheet. In 42 league appearances, Taylor has netted 10 goals, including in the Derby Day victory at Bolton Wanderers in December.

He also proved to be a real creative force in the final third, laying on a further seven goals for his teammates. The hard-working forward has endeared himself to the Latics faithful, winning the Christophe Duchamp Player of the Month for the last four months in a row, and being now named the Club's 2024/25 Player of the Year.

Taylor has become the first loan player to take home the prize since Reece James in 2018/19 and is a well-worthy winner on the back of his outstanding performances.

Fellow Heatable Wigan Athletic Academy graduates Sam Tickle and James Carragher ranked second and third in the online vote.
