Wigan Athletic Women has been nominated for eight awards at this year's Festival of Women's Football, including Grassroots Club of the Year.

It has been an incredible first year for Latics Women, who have enjoyed a remarkable amount of success both on and off the field. Emmerson Boyce's side won the Lancashire Women's County League Championship title and reached the Semi Finals of the Challenge Cup in their historic debut season, inspiring the next generation and creating role models for young girls and boys across the Wigan Borough.

Their achievements have been recognised at the Festival of Women Awards, being shortlisted for a staggering eight awards. The Festival of Women's Football ceremony takes place on Wednesday 23 April, and celebrates the entire women's football community.
