Plenty of heritage activities will take place on Saturday 28 September in the South Stand Fan Zone

Wigan Athletic will celebrate its proud history against Exeter City on Saturday 28 September in the Club's dedicated Heritage Fixture.

Following the Club's formation in 1932, it has been an incredible journey for everyone connected to the town of Wigan. Latics supporters have watched their team accomplish feats beyond their wildest of dreams, from spending eight unforgettable years in the Premier League, featuring in the UEFA Europa League, and winning the 2013 FA Cup.

Joining forces with both the Wigan Athletic Heritage Group and Wigan Athletic Past Players Association, our upcoming clash with Exeter City at the end of September will be one to remember as we take the opportunity to look back and celebrate the history of our special Football Club.

Having first launched in the South Stand Bar, the Heritage Museum will be open in the South Stand for all supporters to enjoy. The Museum is the home of loads of special memorabilia from over the years - from programmes to replica shirts - and members of the Wigan Athletic Heritage Group will be on hand to pass on their knowledge and expertise to those wanting to learn more. Former players from different eras in the Club's long history will also be in attendance forming a Guard of Honour pre-game, after been invited to the fixture by the Wigan Athletic Past Players Association. They will take part in a VIP Q&A session in the South Stand Fan Zone, which will play host to plenty of heritage activities kindly run by the Official Wigan Athletic Supporters Club. There will also be a post match Q&A with Past Players in Whelans Sports Bar.
