Wigan Athletic are delighted to share with supporters that a crowd flag in tribute to all #BELIEVE FansFund Members will be unveiled in the North Stand ahead of kick-off at Monday’s Emirates FA Cup Third Round tie against Manchester United.

The design features a selection of historic Latics images, with the wording 'HEART AND SOUL’ made up of the names of the all-time FansFund Members.

Members will recall that a similar crowd flag was planned to be unveiled as part of last season's FansFund, but due to the well-documented issues surrounding the Club at the time, this simply was not possible.

With a sell-out crowd, and the game live across the nation, Monday presents the perfect opportunity to finally fulfil this benefit from the scheme and celebrate our supporters who really are the ‘Heart of Soul’ of our special Football Club.

We understand that there have been some concerns raised recently regarding the status of the FansFund, and we think it is important that we address these and add some clarity to the situation.

Firstly, we would like to reassure supporters who are still contributing to the FansFund that your money continues to be ringfenced and is being used as a vital source of income for our Club’s Academy. With a Club record of seven Academy starters taking to the field against Derby County on Boxing Day, the importance of our Academy has been emphasised more than ever this season.

Your support of this through the FansFund has been truly incredible. Further details on some of the specific projects the fund has supported will be shared in due course.

Following the takeover, we have taken some time to review and understand how we can make improvements in all areas of the Club, with the FansFund being one of these. We will soon be able to share an update about an exciting new scheme set to be introduced for supporters.

We are currently in the process of finalising the details of the scheme and as part of this, a consultation with supporters' groups will be taking place later this month to ensure your voice is heard.

After the turbulent recent times the Club has experienced, Monday’s game against Premier League giants Manchester United is an opportunity to celebrate our great Club and with a sell-out crowd set to be in attendance, it is sure to be a memorable evening for all.

In addition to the Heart and Soul flag in the North Stand, our brand-new Official South Stand Sponsor Heatable will be providing supporters with clappers in the South Stand which will certainly further enhance the atmosphere on the night.
