Wigan Athletic have named their starting side to take on Chesterfield in the Vertu Trophy. 

Latics make the trip to the SMH Group Stadium, aiming to secure their progression into the last 16 of the competition. 

The onus is on Shaun Maloney's men to bounce back following two consecutive defeats in Sky Bet League One, and the Latics Gaffer has made nine changes from their last outing against Leyton Orient.

Baba Adeeko and Toby Sibbick are the only players to retain their places from last weekend, with Tom Watson, Calvin Ramsay, James Carragher, Luke Robinson, Matt Smith, Michael Olakigbe, Chris Sze, Callum McManaman and Joe Hugill all making their returns to action against Chesterfield.

Former Heatable Latics Academy graduate James Berry starts for the hosts, while Ryan Colclough and Will Grigg are named on the bench for Paul Cook's side.
