Shaun Maloney and Charlie Wyke have both been nominated for the Sky Bet League One Manager and Player of the Month awards for August.
Maloney has been nominated for the accolade following an outstanding month of results, guiding Latics to 10 points from five, including eye-catching victories at Derby County and Bolton Wanderers.
The impressive form helped Latics overcome their previously obtained eight-point deduction ahead of schedule, and move into positive points in some style.
Latics frontman Wyke is up for the Player of the Month award after a remarkable few weeks in front of goal.
The 30-year-old netted five goals in as many appearances, with his opening day brace at Derby County setting the tone nicely for the remainder of August. He followed it up with a goal against his former side Carlisle United, before bagging another double in the 4-0 Derby Day win at the Toughsheet Community Stadium.
The winners of both awards will be announced on Friday 8 September 2023.
The Sky Bet Manager of the Month judging panel comprises former Barnsley manager Danny Wilson, Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman, and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies.
