Congratulations to Liam Morrison on being selected in the Scotland U21 squad for their opening UEFA U21 EURO 2025 qualifier against Spain.
Billy Stark’s side will travel to the Estadio Municipal De La Victoria to take on Spain on Monday 11 September (kick-off 7pm) in their first competitive match since June 2022.
Morrison, who has recently won his first five caps for U21s and captained the side earlier this year, has been impressive at the heart of the defence for Shaun Maloney’s men following his arrival from Bayern Munich.
The 20-year-old has featured six times for Latics at the beginning of the 2023/24 campaign, contributing to three victories against Derby County, Northampton Town and near-neighbours Bolton Wanderers.
On the back of a strong start to the new season, Morrison will be looking to add to his international caps next month.
Good luck, Liam!
