Wigan Athletic Community Trust have been nominated for two awards at the 2022 Armstrong Project’s North West Football Awards.

The Community Trust have been nominated for the Community Club of the Year (outside of the Premier League), and in the Community Initiative of the Season category, where this year they have been recognised for their work tackling loneliness in Over 55s through the Supporters Project, funded by the Wigan Athletic Supporters Club.

Set to be held on Monday 7 November at The Point, Emirates Old Trafford, the awards will celebrate the excellent work of footballing organisations both on and off the pitch. With Latics manager Leam Richardson, as well as playing duo Will Keane and Thelo Aasgaard up for awards, it is set to be an exciting night for the Football Club.

Working with Wigan Athletic to improve health, enhance life chances and create stronger safer communities, the Community Trust have supported young people through education programmes, offered fitness sessions for men and women, as well as supporting our refugee communities - plus so much more!
