For the second year running, Will Keane has been named as the League One Player of the Year at the North West Football Awards.
Keane beat Sean McConville (Accrington Stanley), Dapo Afolayan (Bolton Wanderers), Alex Cairns (Fleetwood Town) and Cole Stockton (Morecambe) to the award after an impressive campaign in which he scored 26 goals in 48 games to help Leam Richardson's side lift the League One title. He also proved to be a real creative force for Latics, laying on a further eight goals for his teammates.
In addition to enjoying a simply outstanding season at Club level, Keane also earned three senior caps for the Republic of Ireland, with his debut coming against Portugal at the Aviva Stadium back in November last year.
A now two-time winner of the League One Player of the Year award at the NWF Awards, Keane has since carried over his excellent form into the Championship, scoring seven goals at the start of the 2022/23 campaign.
Congratulations, Keano!
