  • Wigan Athletic Community Trust are looking to recruit a Traineeship Tutor to join our Training and Skills team
  • The post is a full-time permanent position with a salary of £22,000 per annum

You will:

  • Plan and deliver quality 12-week Traineeship programmes for NEET 16 – 24-year-olds, including delivering a range of employability and lifestyle workshops.
  • To provide quality teaching and learning on a range of Level 1 and 2 qualifications including health and safety and customer service.
  • Develop and build positive relationships with a range of external agencies to support recruitment and referral of learners to the programmes.
  • Enroll and induct students to programmes completing all relevant and appropriate documentation.
  • Gain participants feedback whilst the learner is on programme and upon completion of the programme
  • Coordinate and arrange quality work placement opportunities for students both internally and externally, establishing strong relationships across the club and with local employers and businesses.
  • To recruit learners from a different range of settings. Including attending events and meetings with referrers such as DWP, Wigan Council and Local Education providers.
  • Ensure all project partners are kept informed on progress of learners and that all monitoring and evaluation reports are completed.
  • Ensure all activities are correctly monitored with the appropriate risk assessments, safeguarding and health and safety procedures put in place.
  • Represent Wigan Athletic Community Trust at stakeholder and community meetings across Wigan and on occasion at a regional and national level.
  • Be a flexible member of the Wigan Athletic Community Trust team and when requested, assist in the delivery of other projects and activities including evenings and weekends.

 You will have:

  • The ability to inspire and motivate students from a range of diverse and challenging backgrounds
  • A PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification (or working towards)
  • Experience of delivering employability workshops
  • Experience of working on projects with young people aged 16-24
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • The ability to plan and organise own workload effectively
  • Ability to empathise with students and challenge negative behaviours
