Latics will be ball number six in the Quarter Final draw for the Papa John’s Trophy Quarter Final, taking place live on TalkSport on Thursday 6 January.
The draw will be conducted on the Jim White and Simon Jordan show between 11am and 11:30am, with Latics set to learn who they will face in the last eight of the competition.
Lean Richardson’s side secured their passage into the Quarter Finals on Tuesday evening after goals from Tom Naylor, Will Keane, Max Power, Gavin Massey and a brace from Gwion Edwards helped Latics clinch an assertive 6-0 victory at Oldham Athletic.
White and Jordan will be joined by Garry Monk who previously won the competition in 2006 with Swansea City, a victory that helped send the Swans on their way to a proud period in the Club’s history as they rose from Sky Bet League Two to the Premier League as well as winning the EFL Cup.
The Papa John’s Trophy Quarter Finals draw will not be regionalised, meaning that teams from the Northern section can face those from the Southern section in the last eight and beyond.
The ball number for the the Quarter Finals draw are:
- Charlton Athletic
- Harrogate Town
- Hartlepool United
- Rotherham United
- Sutton United
- Wigan Athletic
- Arsenal U21 or Chelsea U21
- Exeter City / Portsmouth FC or Cambridge United
The Quarter Finals will be played the week commencing 24 January.
