We are delighted to confirm the signing of striker Ashley Fletcher on a season-long loan deal from Watford.

Fletcher, 26, is a graduate of the Manchester United Academy and brings nearly 200 senior career appearances to Leam Richardson’s forward line, the majority of which have been played in the Premier League and Championship.

Having helped Barnsley to win promotion from League One in his first loan spell away from Old Trafford, Fletcher completed a permanent transfer to West Ham United, where he made 16 Premier League appearances before joining Middlesbrough a year later.

During four years at the Riverside Stadium, Fletcher scored 28 goals, also spending a brief loan period with Sunderland in 2018, before joining Watford last summer.

Fletcher featured six times for Watford in all competitions, scoring twice, before completing a loan move to New York Red Bulls in the MLS. After featuring seven times in the MLS, Fletcher returned to the UK in July.

The striker will wear the number 23 shirt during his time at the DW Stadium.
