We are pleased to confirm the loan signing of defender Curtis Tilt from Rotherham United until January 4.

Tilt, 29, joined the Millers earlier this year after an impressive spell with Blackpool in which he played over 100 times during a two-and-a-half-year stay at Bloomfield Road.

The-Walsall born defender made his initial foray into senior football in non-league with Halesowen Town, Hednesford Town and Telford United before joining Wrexham in 2016-17, where his form earned him his first move into the EFL with Blackpool.

Discussing Tilt in his press conference earlier today, manager John Sheridan said:

“Curtis is a natural defender, he's left-sided and we've been struggling with that since Danny Fox left.

“Both I and Leam know we're playing Naisy out of position - he can play there, but I like Naisy and I want him to play higher up the pitch where he's more effective."

Tilt says he arrives at the DW Stadium in the best shape of his career.

“I am buzzing to be here and I can’t wait to get started,” he explained. “I am here to get games and help the lads get into the top half of this league.

“I feel in the best shape I have been throughout my career so it just a matter of getting match fit now.

“I like to get stuck in, win the ball, be aggressive and try and be a leader.”
