Latics captain Samy Morsy has been nominated for February's Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month award!

Alongside, Alexsandar Mitrovic (Fulham), Scott Hogan (Birmingham City) and Cauley Woodrow (Barnsley), Morsy has been selected by the judging panel for the Sky Bet Player of the Month, comprised of Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman; EFL Communications Director Mark Rowan and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies.

Here's what the judges thought of the Egypt international's performances throughout February...

Tough tackling and determined, Morsy drove his Wigan teammates on as they climbed out of the bottom three for the first time in three months. Allied to his disciplined leadership were crucial goals against Middlesbrough and West Brom.

Morsy captained Latics to four wins, two draws and just one defeat from seven league games, scoring the winning goal in our 1-0 triumph at the Hawthorns to round off a standout month.

All monthly award winners will be announced on Friday 13 March.
