MP for Wigan “proud” as Latics awarded EFL North West Community Club of the Year for 2020.

MP for Wigan speaks of her pride as Latics are awarded the Ignition Sports Media EFL North West Community Club of the Year award for 2020
It is the third time in four years Latics have been recognised for their work in Wigan and the surrounding areas

Lisa Nandy MP says she is proud that Wigan Athletic have once again been recognised as the EFL North West Community Club of the Year, through the work of the Wigan Athletic Community Trust.

In a video message of congratulations sent to all involved in the award win, Lisa said:

“A huge congratulations to Wigan Athletic Community Trust for winning the EFL North West Community Club of the Year again! I think they are the best club in the country, but then again I am biased!

“It’s a real testament to the work that everybody at the Community Trust does. They are out across Wigan all the time working with young people, people with disabilities and some of the most marginalised groups we have in our community.

“They really set the standard for other clubs and I am really really proud of them.”
