"Praise is nice, but we've still got a job to do." - Gary Roberts.

Speaking on episode 22 of our podcast Latics Listen, midfielder Gary Roberts was keen to encourage supporters, players and staff alike, that there's still a job to be completed off the back of three consecutive Sky Bet Championship wins.

Here's an excerpt from Gary's chat, with the full interview available through the player below.

You’ve been in the team for the last two games, both away from home, do you enjoy the away games in terms of your impact on the team?

“I haven’t scored away from home for us yet, but we’ve picked good points up lately. We’ve been to some tough places and we haven’t sat behind the ball and grabbed narrow wins, we’ve created chances and dominated games.

“I don’t think this is just luck, it’s been coming for a while and now we’ve kicked on and hopefully it continues like this.

“As much as we can have good performances and hard luck stories, we need points. The win at Birmingham City on New Year’s Day was a massive moment for us.

“We were nervous at the end of that game, which came on the back of how many late goals we’ve conceded in the past.

“You can look at that game as a natural starting point for the good recent form, because getting that monkey off our backs gave us the belief we needed to hold onto leads. We’ve gone past that now and moved onto dominating games. That’s all confidence, but it’s only the same thing we’ve been looking to do from the start of the season.

“Praise for the performances has been nice, but in the changing room we’re fully aware of the job we still need to do.

“We had a good week last week, but there’s a long way to go, there are 30 points to play for and the teams at the bottom of the Championship are all on similar runs to us.”

Luton Town are the visitors to the DW Stadium today, how do you see this game?

“We can’t take our foot off the gas at all. This game is absolutely massive for us and it’s a bit of a cup final type of game in the sense of what is there to play for.

“We’re confident in the way we’re playing, but we’re well aware of the outcomes that can happen, especially with the way in which results in the Championship tend to move teams around quickly.

“We’ll have our tails up and we’ll be ready to go.”

After what happened back in December at Kenilworth Road, is there any feeling of needing to get one over on Luton?

“Conceding late goals like we did against them in the away game, that’s happened to us so many times this season.

“It’s not a personal thing with Luton, though, it’s about taking on our next challenge which is to get three more points.

“Four wins on the bounce in this league would be massive."
