Plenty of positives for Latics, with returns for three key players, including Antonee Robinson.

Speaking to Latics TV after his side's successful return to Sky Bet Championship action at Huddersfield Town, Paul Cook was full of praise for his side, as Jamal Lowe and Anthony Pilkington grabbed the goals in a 2-0 triumph.

"We're delighted with the players. Today was always going to be tough for everyone. The sun's shining, it's like the first games of the season for everyone again and the subs helped no end because there were a lot of tired legs out there.

"That's the way it's going to be for both teams. I have to give big credit to our players to come away from home again and win, against a Huddersfield side who have some really good players.

"We're delighted to come away with the points and a clean sheet. I'm delighted with all of the players. Danny Fox came back in, Jedi hasn't played a game of football in six months and great credit to him because from his performance today you would never know that. The lads showed great spirit.

"At our darkest moments I've always said we lack certain stuff in terms of experience and being naive. Even today we made some terrible mistakes in trying to win the game, but that experience only comes with playing more games at this level for a lot of the lads.

"We're on a great run and this is a big win psychologically for a lot of people."

As we move forwards and plan for next Saturday's return to the DW Stadium against Blackburn Rovers, Cook added:

"We've got eight games to go and there are so many points to play for, this division is no different from the Premier League with so many twists and turns ahead, but we've just got to make sure we take care of ourselves.

"We really have picked up from where we left off, it was always going to be a challenge, but keeping it going now is going to be key.

"We wish Huddersfield all the best on the run-in, we're delighted with the three points and we move onto Blackburn at home next Saturday."

On Jamal Lowe's performance and goal, Cook continued:

"He's had the chances throughout the season, Jamal could easily have a lot more goals, but he's no different to every player because confidence is key. If you keep getting in the correct areas, the correct thing will happen and Jamal gets into those areas regularly, so there are a lot more goals in him."
