It was a home debut to remember for Callum Lang at Shrewsbury Town, as the 21-year-old scored what turned out to be the game's winning goal in a 4-3 victory over Southend United at Montgomery Waters Meadow.

Lang's expert finish underneath the Shrimpers' keeper came seven minutes from time to make it 4-2 to Salop, with the visitors clawing a goal back before the final whistle. It was not only Lang's first goal for his loan club, but his first in Sky Bet League One, having scored 23 goals in League Two over the past two seasons for Morecambe FC and Oldham Athletic.

The striker featured for 84 minutes on Tuesday night before being substituted, with the victory for Shrewsbury seeing them 13th in the League One table on 12 points, two points behind the play-off positions.

Owen Evans

Latics' former Wales youth international Owen Evans was in action once again for Macclesfield Town on Tuesday night, helping his side to a 1-1 draw against former Latics midfielder Michael Flynn's Newport County.

The draw was Evans' ninth league appearance for the Silkmen and his 11th in all competitions, leaving Macc 14th in Sky Bet League Two on 12 points, three points from the play-off places.
