Striker Devante Cole was Latics' only player in action out on loan at the weekend, with the 24-year-old on target at Ibrox Stadium in Motherwell's 2-1 defeat to Rangers FC in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday afternoon.

Cole opened the scoring in the game after just 21 minutes, but the hosts came back to claim the victory, leaving the Well fourth in the table on 16 points. Devante completed the full 90 minutes.

Elsewhere

Owen Evans, Divin Baningime and James Aspinall's matches fell foul of the wet weather on Saturday, with Macclesfield Town v Bradford City, Curzon Ashton v Kidderminster Harriers and Kendal Town v City of Liverpool FC all postponed due to waterlogged pitches.

Evans and the Silkmen are 15th in Sky Bet League Two, Baningime and the Nash are 19th in National League North and Aspinall's Purps are 12th in the Northern Premier League North West division.
