Gelhardt scores after 12 seconds in England U18s' 3-2 win in Austria.
Joe scored three goals in three games during October fixtures.

Joe Gelhardt was England’s star man in the latest round of Under 18 fixtures, scoring three goals and assisting one, whilst captaining his country to victories over Poland and Austria, the latest of which saw him score after just 12 seconds on Wednesday afternoon.

Gelhardt, stood out in England’s opening game when he assisted England’s first goal and scored his side’s third and fourth of a dominant 5-2 victory against Poland’s Under 19s in Opole on Friday 11 October.

The 17-year-old captained his side on the night, with team mate Jensen Weir introduced as a second half substitute shortly before Gelhardt’s withdrawal.

Weir was handed a start in England’s second game and continued to impress for the Young Lions, with Gelhardt a late substitute in a narrow 1-0 win against Slovakia’s Under 19s in Senec.

Both of our young stars started in England’s third game, a 3-2 victory against Austria’s Under 18s, with Gelhardt once again wearing the armband for the Three Lions. The forward scored straight from kick off when he expertly diverted a cross from the right into the back of the net after just 12 seconds. Weir impressed once more in midfield with a dynamic performance, as the duo continued to shine on the international stage.
