Man of the Match midfielder happy with performance, but disappointed not to claim victory.
Wales international praises Latics' 2,000+ following at Ewood Park.

Speaking to Latics TV following his Man of the Match performance in Latics' 0-0 draw against Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park, Lee Evans was happy with the performance he and his team mates produced, but admitted that more should have been taken away from our in-form opposition.

"It's a good point. It was very similar to the last two games, so we're disappointed that it's only a point.

"They were on a winning streak, playing well and winning games. We haven't been winning, but we came into the game with a lot of confidence from the last two games and the performance showed that and we started the game really well.

"There's a tinge of disappointment because we know we've played a lot better since the Luton game, but in this league it's all about results. In the last three games we should have claimed more points, but it's something to build on because the performances are there.

"We had some really good chances, with a few whistle past the post and Christian (Walton) made a few great saves. It's just one of those things, the ball just doesn't seem to land for us.

"If we can stick one in the back of the net then that can help us to score a few more."

More than 2,000 supporters made the trip into Lancashire on the night, something which made a real impact, as Evans continued:

"The fans were brilliant tonight, they were loud from the first minute to the last and it does make a big difference to us.

"We know that our away form over the last 18 months hasn't been good enough, so it would have been nice to send everyone home happy from this one, especially after the performance.

"We go back to the DW Stadium now and we hope they can be just as loud on Boxing Day against Derby County.

"It's a massive game against Derby. We need to rest up, prepare well and go again."

On his Man of the Match award and his performance alongside captain Samy Morsy, Evans added:

"It's nice to be recognised, I thought they were going to ask me to give it to my mate Morsy.

"I thought we controlled the game well in midfield. They had 10-15 minutes in the second half, but apart from that, we controlled the game, got on the ball and had the tempo in our favour."
