Latics players helped youngsters improve their football skills at one of Wigan Athletic Community Trust’s summer soccer schools.

Pair helped youngsters improve their skills on the football pitch, and took part in a Q&A with the children.
Soccer Schools and Dance Camps have taken place across the Wigan borough over the past six weeks at six different locations.

First team players Charlie Mulgrew and Lewis Macleod made guest appearances at Standish High School Soccer School.

The pair took part in small sided games, a crossbar challenge and a Q&A with youngsters at the camp, which is run by Community Trust staff.

Defender Charlie Mulgrew said: “It’s been good to come and spend a bit of time with the kids, it’s a great thing for the community for them to come and get a bit of training when they are on school holidays and to interact with other kids.

“The Community Trust is doing a great job, involving all kids both boys and girls and playing football and bringing them all together as one, keeping them active and off the streets.

“The kids are having a great time and we are happy to help where we can, answer questions and get involved, it’s the least we can do really.”
